Robert Andersson Elected to the Board of the Swedish Water Industry Association

At the Swedish Water Industry Association’s spring meeting, Robert Andersson of Aqua Robur Technologies was elected as a new member of the association’s board.

What drives your commitment to a positive development in the industry?
“I’m passionate about accelerating the digitalization of the water and wastewater sector – both in Sweden and internationally. Through my work at Aqua Robur, I’ve seen the significant impact modern IoT solutions can have in enabling more efficient, data-driven, and sustainable water management. I hope to contribute with insights from innovation, international growth, and scaling new technologies in a traditional industry.”

What challenges do you see today, and how do you think the board of the Swedish Water Industry Association can help address them?
“We’re facing a tough challenge with aging infrastructure and increasing climate-related stress. At the same time, there is often a lack of resources and incentives to make the necessary transition. The board can play an important role by fostering collaboration between technology providers, municipalities, and decision-makers, and by highlighting concrete examples where digital solutions are delivering results.”

What is your view on the future of sustainable and resilient water management?
“Sustainable and resilient water management requires bold new thinking – in technology, work processes, and collaboration. Digitalization is key to enabling the systemic change that’s needed. By leveraging real-time data and smart analytics, we can optimize maintenance, reduce water loss, and make better decisions. The board should prioritize knowledge sharing, standardization, and innovation support to help more stakeholders take the leap.”
